When God closes His hand His revelation is hidden.

Habakkuk 3      (KJV)

1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.

Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the HIDING of his power.   KJV

1 Corinthians 2:7

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the HIDDEN wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

2 Corinthians 4

But if our gospel be HID, it is HID to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Ephesians 3:8-10

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been HID in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Colossians 2:3

In whom are HID all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Colossians 3:3

For ye are dead, and your life is HID with Christ in God.

Habakkuk 3:4   (NASB)

His radiance is like the sunlight;
He has rays flashing from His hand,
And there is the hiding of His power.

God is the Great Revealer. He is a self-revealing God. However, His revealing of Himself is often selective. Two people standing next to each other do not necessarily see or understand God alike. One may be opened to God’s self-revelation and the other may not. God knows the hearts and can simultaneously reveal and hide Himself and His wonders. When we know and love God through Jesus Christ we live in a different understanding than the unbeliever. God’s revelation is true.
